Published on July 12, 2019, Atletico Madrid has disputed the transfer fee of 120 million euros ($135 million, Sh13.5 billion) paid to Barcelona for France forward Antoine Griezmann.
The club argued that the amount was insufficient to meet the release clause, which dropped from 200 million euros to 120 million euros on July 1.
Atletico Madrid stated that the agreement between Griezmann and Barcelona had been concluded before the release clause change, making the payment insufficient.
