On July 12, 2019, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i spoke at the funeral of the late Information, Communication and Technology Cabinet Secretary in Nyeri, Kenya.

During his speech, Matiang'i stated that cabinet members would continue to work together for the benefit of Kenyans, despite claims of a plot to poison Deputy President William Ruto.

He emphasized that the cabinet would focus on implementing the Jubilee government's four main agendas, which include developing the country's infrastructure and creating new projects.

His remarks were supported by his counterpart from the Ministry of Health, James Macharia, who stated that the cabinet meetings would ensure the success of the government's agendas.
