On March 11, 2022, a historic coalition agreement was signed in Nairobi, Kenya, uniting six political parties under the One Kenya Alliance (OKA). The agreement was signed by Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, NARC Kenya's Martha Karua, and Kenya African National Union's Gideon Moi.
Other signatories to the agreement include United Democratic Party (UDP) Leader Cyrus Jirongo, Irungu Nyakera of the Farmers Party, and Dave Ochieng of the Movement for Democracy and Growth.
However, the signing of the agreement was not without controversy. Narc Kenya, one of the parties involved, had initially requested a seven-day extension to scrutinize the coalition agreement.
"We have postponed the signing to address legal issues that have arisen," Karua had earlier stated.
Despite the initial delay, the OKA principals have committed their allegiance to the Alliance, pledging to work together in the spirit of national unity.
