On July 12, 2019, thousands of Algerian football fans gathered at the famous Champs-Elysees in Paris to celebrate their team's victory against Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, the celebrations took a violent turn as a group of fans smashed their way into two nearby stores, including a motorcycle shop.
According to an AFP journalist, dozens of people looted the stores, taking helmets, gloves, and even motorcycles.
Police responded by using tear gas to disperse the crowds, and at least one person was arrested.
Football fans traditionally gather at the Champs-Elysees to celebrate key football victories, but this time the celebrations turned into chaos.
Similar scenes were witnessed in Marseille, where Algerian supporters gathered at the Old Port to mark the win, with tear gas being used to control the crowds.
