On February 2, in Kisii and Nyamira Counties, leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza formation expressed concerns that Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka should not be forced to join Azimio La Umoja.
They argued that the political move made by the former Vice President should be self-driven and informed by the aspirations of the people.
Leaders present at the rallies included Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetang'ula, MPs Vincent Kemosi, Silvanus Osoro, Joash Nyamoko, Kithure Kindiki, and Majimbo Kalasinga.
Osoro stated, 'It is unfortunate that Musyoka has been betrayed more than once by Odinga. He should not trust him again.'
Wetang'ula emphasized that Kenya Kwanza was committed to changing the face of Kenya, saying, 'We will liberate our country and make it more habitable to everyone.'
Kindiki urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to keep off the politics of succession, stating that the President was 'messing up the country by coercing Kenyans to rally behind one presidential candidate.'
He added, 'Do not divide the country at a time when you are retiring from the office.'
