Victims of the 2007-08 post-election violence in Kenya are seeking justice and peace ahead of the August 9 general elections.
Peace ambassadors drawn from 33 counties have launched a campaign to urge politicians to exercise restraint in their public engagement activities to avoid stirring animosity in the citizenry.
According to the peace ambassadors, politicians have a crucial role to play in promoting peace and unity in the country, especially during election periods.
They are calling on politicians to refrain from making inflammatory statements that could incite violence and instead focus on promoting peace and reconciliation.
The peace ambassadors are also urging Kenyans to remain vigilant and report any incidents of hate speech or incitement to violence to the authorities.
