Kenyan Man Drowns in Baltimore Pond

On July 12, 2019, a Kenyan man tragically lost his life in a drowning incident at Golden Ring Park in Baltimore, Maryland.

First responders from the Baltimore County Fire Department were called to the scene at 6:10 pm, where they found the man, later identified as John Omari Hassan, submerged in the water at the park's lake on Fontana Lane.

Despite being rushed to Franklin Square Hospital in critical condition, Hassan sadly passed away.

According to authorities, the circumstances surrounding Hassan's entry into the water remain unclear, with signs nearby indicating that swimming is prohibited at the pond.

John Hassan, a resident of Nakuru, Kenya, had arrived in Baltimore in April 2019.

Funeral arrangements and prayer meetings are being held daily at 7 pm at 1226 Berk Ave, Rosedale, Maryland 21237.
