Published on July 11, 2019, a local media station aired a video claiming that Kenyan fashion designer Shiyenze Khasoha had faked having cancer and conned Kenyans of Sh2 million.

However, Khasoha has refuted the allegations, terming them a 'circus, untrue and unfortunate.'

She explained that in March 2018, after numerous tests, she was diagnosed with Epithelial Carcinoma, commonly known as ovarian cancer.

She underwent various treatments and has so far raised Sh600,000 through her fund drive, contrary to the claim that she had raised Sh2 million.

Khasoha also clarified that her caregivers, Philip Oketch and Joyce Kakya, had edited a video to fit their narrative and sell their story.

She has been advised to concentrate on her treatment and will clarify the situation once she concludes with the medical processes.
