The accident occurred when a vehicle, carrying seven occupants, lost control and crashed into a railway bridge wall before plunging into the railway tracks. The incident highlighted concerns about the road's design, with many arguing that the highway was poorly designed, making it difficult for passengers to navigate at night.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the vehicle was heading to Nairobi when the driver lost control, hitting a railway bridge wall before crushing beneath the railway tracks.
