Esther Passaris Embroiled in Online Rant ¶
On July 11, 2019, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris found herself at the center of a heated online exchange with her constituents.
The controversy began when Passaris claimed that Kenyan MPs deserved more allowances, citing the fact that they were leading people who expected them to settle their bills.
However, her sentiments sparked outrage among Kenyans, who accused her of being part of lawmakers who were exploiting ways to enrich themselves at the expense of poor citizens.
Passaris was then tasked to explain what she had done to Nairobi residents that warranted the clamour for extra pay.
As the online exchange escalated, Passaris bluntly told her constituents that she would not solve all their problems as they were expecting.
At this point, the conversation shifted from development issues to personal attacks, with a section of netizens accusing Passaris of using her beauty to lure men into bed at the expense of serving her electorates.
Passaris responded with a chilling tweet that left her followers mouth agape, saying, "Ask your father and mother what they think of me. You might learn a thing or two about women, including your own mother, wife, sister, daughter. Hopefully, you will learn that sex is overrated as an income earner. I have more between my ears than between my legs."
