July 11, 2019 - Gor Mahia, the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions, has released four players in a bid to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The players released include goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji, defender Pascal Ogweno, Ugandan forward Erisa Ssekisambu, and midfielder Cercidy Okeyo.

According to Gor Mahia's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lordvick Aduda, the players were released on the recommendation of the technical bench.

The club has since moved to replace the quartet, signing six new players, including Denis Oalo, Tobias Otieno, Ronack Elvis, Dickson Ambundo, Curtis Wekesa, and David Mapigano.

However, Wekesa failed to travel with the team to Rwanda for the Cecafa Kagame Cup.

Aduda remains optimistic that the club will continue to strengthen their squad, stating, "The window is not yet closed, anything is possible."

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed the departure of Jacques Tuyisenge to Angolan giants Petro Atletico de Luanda in a deal estimated to be around Sh15 million.

Tuyisenge, who joined Gor Mahia in 2016 from Rwandan side Police FC, scored 64 goals in 129 appearances during his three-year stint at the club.
