On July 11, 2019, a devastating incident shook the quiet town of Kenyenya in Kisii County, as two young sisters, aged six and nine, fell victim to a horrific crime.
The girls had been left in the care of their mother, who had stepped out to the market, when the attackers struck.
According to Kisii County Police Commander Martin Kibet, the minors may have been murdered after they identified their killers.
"We are investigating the incident. Such habits that are injustice against humanity must come to an end," said Mr. Kibet.
Tragically, this incident is not an isolated case, as there has been a recent surge in defilement cases of minors in the region.
