On July 11, 2019, a devastating accident occurred at Muumandu in Wote, Machakos, claiming the lives of five people and leaving 13 others seriously injured.
A 14-seater matatu veered off the road and rolled several times, killing the five people instantly.
According to eyewitnesses, the matatu was speeding at the time of the accident.
The injured victims were rushed to the Machakos Level 5 Hospital for treatment.
