July 11, 2019, marked a significant development in the world of streaming services as Google and Amazon settled their long-standing dispute.
As a result, the Amazon Prime Video app is now available on the Google Play Store, and users can enjoy their favorite content on their big screens using Chromecast-enabled devices.
The app's casting functionality allows users to cast content from their Android devices to compatible TVs, TV boxes, and other devices, making it easier for users to enjoy their favorite shows and movies.
It's worth noting that users need to be running Android 5.0 Lollipop or a more recent version of Android to use this feature.
Additionally, users who cast content to a Chromecast Ultra dongle will be able to access 4K content at no extra cost.
Prime Video joins a number of other media content apps that allow Android device users to cast content to their big screens, including DSTV Now, VLC, and YouTube.
As a reciprocal gesture, the YouTube app is now available for use on Amazon's Fire TV devices.
