Lionel Messi's Restaurant in Argentina Offers Free Food and Drink to Homeless ¶
Barcelona star Lionel Messi has shown his kindness to the people of his hometown of Rosario, Argentina, by ordering his family restaurant to provide free food and drinks to homeless persons.
The restaurant, named VIP, has been offering warm meals since Friday, July 5, 2019, and intends to keep doing so for the foreseeable future.
According to Ariel Almada, the restaurant manager, they have also been giving out coffee, soft drinks, and even some wine to some of the homeless individuals.
Many people have taken advantage of the offer, and Almada stated that they will continue to provide the free meals for 15 days, every night between 7pm and 9pm.
Argentina is currently battling a cold snap, which has led to some deaths in the country. The economic recession has also forced many people to sleep on the streets, and Messi's gesture is seen as a way to help alleviate the situation.
