Kenyan football legend Joe Kadenge was remembered in a special way on Tuesday, July 9, in Rwanda, where a Cecafa Kagame Cup match between Bandari and Mukura Victory was held.
A moment of silence was observed in Kadenge's honour, a gesture initiated by the hosts, according to Bandari.
"A moment of silence was observed during our Match against Mukura VFC, in respect to the legend of Kenyan football Mzee Kadenge," Bandari tweeted.
"What a noble gesture from the hosts, and indeed mzee was well known all over the continent," the club added.
Earlier, it was reported that the funeral and burial arrangements for Kadenge would cost approximately KSh 5 million, but the family is facing financial challenges and has appealed for support to give their kin a befitting send-off.
Joe Kadenge, a former Harambee Stars player and coach, passed away on Sunday, July 7, after a long battle with illness.
