Published on July 10, 2019, a heated exchange has erupted between musician Ringtone and NTV Swahili news anchor Doreen Majala.
Ringtone sparked the controversy during an interview on NTV's 'The Trend' where he claimed that Majala had a crush on him when she was in high school.
According to Ringtone, he visited Majala's school, Nkuene Girls, and she helped him sell his CDs, with him claiming she wanted him to be her boyfriend.
However, Majala has vehemently denied the claims, calling them 'childish' and 'stupid.'
She took to Twitter to slam Ringtone, warning him to keep her name out of his 'drama.'
"Temp post: Came across this interview of artist Ringtone bring my name into ‘tafuta bibi campaign’ saying he visited my former sch Nkuene Girls & that I made advances on him (I was 16 in high sch).WARNING, Keep my name off Childishness, Stupidity & Drama. Image isn’t built in a day," Doreen Majala tweeted.
