Kisumu Deputy Headteacher Charged with Defiling Three Minors

On July 10, 2019, a disturbing case of alleged child abuse came to light in Kisumu County. Dan Mathews Odhiambo, the deputy headteacher at Arombo Primary School, was arrested and charged with defiling three minors.

According to reports, Odhiambo appeared before Nyando Senior Principal Magistrate Patrick Olengo, where he denied the charges. The alleged incidents took place in October 2018, January 2019, and June 2019 at different schools in Nyando and Kisumu Central subcounties.

Odhiambo was remanded at Kodiaga Prison after failing to pay a Sh200,000 bond for each of the three charges. The cases will be mentioned on July 12 and heard on October 16.
