On Tuesday, a 32-year-old woman in Nairobi's Thome estate made headlines for all the wrong reasons. She brutally killed her husband, their 14-year-old child, and their three-year-old child before hanging herself in their home.
According to Geoffrey Mwangi Mugo, the area Nyumba Kumi chairman, the couple had a history of domestic disputes. The 37-year-old husband had previously reported to Mugo that his wife had beaten him, but he chose not to involve the police or chief.
However, last night, the situation took a tragic turn. The woman attacked her husband with an axe while he was asleep, killing him instantly. She then went on to kill their two children before taking her own life.
The bodies of the four were discovered earlier on Tuesday in their house.
