On January 20, 2022, Kenya's Ministry of Health reported 368 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 6,003 tested in the last 24 hours.
The cumulative number of samples tested reached 3,170,792, with a positivity rate of 6.1 per cent.
Of the new cases, 340 were Kenyans, while 28 were foreigners, with 185 males and 183 females affected. The youngest case was a nine-month-old infant, while the oldest was 100 years old.
Health Cabinet Secretary Kagwe announced that 823 patients had recovered from the disease, with 707 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care programme and 116 from various health facilities countrywide.
There were no Covid-19 deaths reported, keeping the cumulative fatalities at 5,520.
Currently, 865 patients were admitted to various health facilities, while 7,762 were under the Home-Based Isolation and Care programme.
Forty-six patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 44 on ventilatory support and two on supplemental oxygen.
Additionally, 198 patients were on supplemental oxygen, with 196 in the general wards and two in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
As of January 19, 2022, a total of 11,345,649 vaccines had been administered across the country, with 6,269,570 partially vaccinated, 4,937,799 fully vaccinated, and 104,890 booster doses given.
