On January 17, 2022, Kenya and Hungary signed four significant bilateral agreements to enhance cooperation in various sectors.

The agreements cover key areas such as health, education, water management, and diplomacy. The health agreement aims to improve human resource capacity building, information sharing, and disease prevention, including COVID-19.

Notably, the education agreement seeks to double the number of Kenyans receiving Hungarian government scholarships from 100 to 200 annually. The water agreement focuses on wastewater management and related aspects.

Additionally, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on diplomatic training and information exchange, which will facilitate collaboration in training diplomats.

President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed gratitude for the agreements, stating, "We thank you and your administration for the kind gesture which will not only help strengthen our people-to-people collaboration but also enhance our two countries' cooperation within the wider Kenya-European Union partnership."
