Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum Visits Kenya Amid Gold Scam Probe

Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, has arrived in Kenya, sparking speculation about his reasons for the visit.

According to reports, Maktoum was defrauded of approximately Sh400 million worth of gold in May, prompting him to threaten to come to Kenya to 'get' his gold back from the alleged fake gold smugglers.

As the probe into the alleged gold scam continues, Maktoum's visit has raised eyebrows, with many wondering if he is seeking to personally oversee the investigation or if there are other reasons behind his visit.

Locally, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has assured the public that the probe into the gold scam has not stalled, with a team of detectives in Dubai to gather more information.

Meanwhile, Princess Haya Bint al-Hussein, one of Maktoum's wives, fled Dubai over the weekend, reportedly carrying Sh4 billion (£31 million) to start a new life in Europe.

Princess Haya's escape has been linked to Maktoum's alleged mistreatment of her, with some reports suggesting that she had been subjected to emotional abuse.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen what Maktoum's visit to Kenya will achieve, and whether it will shed more light on the alleged gold scam and the circumstances surrounding Princess Haya's escape.
