Deputy President William Ruto is scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom (UK) this Friday, where he will host a high-profile event dubbed the 'Ruto Cocktail Party' in London.

According to sources, the event is expected to attract at least 1,000 Kenyans living abroad, who will be treated to a cocktail party at a venue yet to be disclosed.

However, insiders claim that the event is not just a social gathering, but a secret launch pad for Ruto's 2022 Tanga Tanga diaspora campaign team.

Those willing to attend the event are reportedly being paid between £500 and £1,000 (approximately Sh50,000 to Sh100,000) depending on their influence and strength, with some even being flown in from as far as the United States.

But not everyone is happy about the event, with a section of Kenyans living in London planning to stage a massive protest against Ruto over corruption and his alleged role in crippling the Kenyan economy.

Despite the controversy surrounding the event, Ruto's spokesman, David Mugonyi, has assured that all systems are in place to ensure the deputy president's historical event in London is successful.

However, the Kenya High Commission in the UK has not yet updated its website or social media outlets with information about Ruto's planned visit.

It is worth noting that Ruto has been at the center of controversy in recent days, with allegations emerging that he has disowned his supporters campaigning for his 2022 presidential bid despite President Uhuru Kenyatta's call to stop premature campaigns.
