As Mohamed Salah's current deal with Liverpool nears its expiration, the Egyptian international has made it clear that he is not asking for 'crazy stuff' in any new contract. However, he does expect the deal to reflect his immense value to the team.
Salah, who has been a key player for Liverpool since joining the club in 2017, has fewer than 18 months remaining on his current contract. Despite reports suggesting that he is seeking a significant salary increase, Salah has maintained that he is not making unreasonable demands.
According to reports, Salah is seeking a weekly salary of more than Sh46 million, which would be a significant departure from the club's current wage structure. The owners of Liverpool have been reluctant to hand out lucrative contracts to players once they reach the age of 30, which Salah will do in June.
Salah, who has scored 111 goals in 165 Premier League matches for Liverpool, has reiterated that he wants to be appreciated for his contributions to the team. He has been a key player in the team's success, including their Champions League win in 2019.
Salah's comments come as he prepares to play for Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations. He has also been shortlisted for FIFA's best men's player of 2021, alongside Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi.
