January 10, 2022, marked a significant day for Edward Murimi, a street juggler from Nairobi, after a video of his impressive juggling skills went viral, captivating the attention of netizens worldwide.
For eight years, Edward has been entertaining people on the streets with his juggling skills, earning a small income to support himself. However, his life took a dramatic turn when a video of him juggling in the middle of Nairobi's Central Business District (CBD) was shared on international media platforms, including ESPN Sports.
The video exposed Edward's talent to a global audience, and his passion for juggling has now landed him a lucrative deal with Kenyan betting firm Odibets as their brand ambassador.
Speaking during his ambassadorial unveiling ceremony, Edward expressed his delight at Odibets' decision to support him, stating that he needed the boost to take his juggling career to the next level.
“I have been juggling for the past eight years, street juggling is a career in its own, at least I get something small to go home with after entertaining guys on the streets all day, Odibets have come through for me at the right time, I really needed the support to boost my career,” said an elated Edward.
Odibets, known for supporting local talent through their Odimtaani initiative, has also supported Charles Odongo, a gym instructor from Rongai, who went viral for his 'Ugali eating' video last year.
As part of their Odimtaani initiative, Odibets will continue to support Edward in his juggling career, providing him with the necessary resources to excel in his craft.
