January 10, 2022, marked a difficult day for Arsenal as they suffered a 1-0 shock exit from the FA Cup third round at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal, who have a proud history in the competition, having won it a record 14 times, failed to muster a single shot on target against their Championship opponents.

Manager Mikel Arteta expressed his disappointment with the team's performance, stating that they lacked the drive and determination needed to change the game.

"It's really hurting," Arteta told reporters. "It's a competition that is very related to our history and to get out of it today is a big bump."

Arteta also addressed the substitution of defender Nuno Tavares in the 35th minute, denying that it was due to injury. Instead, he claimed it was a tactical decision aimed at improving the team's performance.

With the FA Cup exit behind them, Arsenal now focus on their upcoming League Cup semi-final against Liverpool and a Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on January 16.
