On July 5, 2019, Alliance Francaise and Gravitti Band came together to host the concert 'Force of Gravitti' in Nairobi, bringing together established and upcoming artistes to share the stage.
Gravitti Band, one of Kenya's local reggae bands, has carved a niche for itself with hit after hit over the past 14 years.
The concert featured a night of pure magic, highlighting the band's musical journey over the years. The likes of guitarists Mutinda and Barbara Guantai warmed up the crowd, while Lydia Dola, Judith Bwire, and Suzanna Owiyo tuned up some western beats.
Wyre the Lovechild, the energetic and legendary genge icon, moved the crowd with a performance of several of his famous songs. The headline act of Gravitti Band took the crowd on a musical journey from their earlier tracks to covers of famous reggae tracks.
The unity shown by all these artistes showcased the potential for all-out local concerts from start to finish.
