January 6, 2022 - Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing her to cancel promotional interviews for her new movie, 'The 355'.

The 12 Years A Slave star was set to join her co-stars in a round of virtual interviews promoting the espionage thriller, but has been forced to drop out due to her positive test results.

Despite being fully vaccinated, Nyong'o is taking care in isolation and is trusting that she will recover well. She took to social media to share her news, urging fans to 'keep yourself and others protected from serious illness.'

‘I too have tested positive for COVID-19. I’m fully vaccinated and taking care in isolation, so I trust I will be well. Please do all you can to keep yourself and others protected from serious illness,’ Lupita tweeted.

The movie, which premieres in US theatres on January 7, brings together top agents, including Jessica Chastain, Penelope Cruz, Diane Kruger, Fan Bingbing, and Sebastian Stan, as they try to retrieve a top-secret weapon that’s fallen into mercenary hands.
