Kenya Records 2,216 New Covid-19 Cases, Total Tally Reaches 304,350

Published on January 6, 2022, Kenya recorded 2,216 new Covid-19 cases from 8,669 samples tested in the last 24 hours, raising the national tally to 304,350.

Of the new cases, 1,984 are Kenyans, while 232 are foreigners, with 1,124 males and 1,092 females affected. The youngest case is a two-month-old baby, and the oldest is 105 years old.

Some 775 patients have recovered from the disease, with 578 recovering from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program and 197 from health facilities countrywide. The total number of recoveries now stands at 259,308.

Unfortunately, three patients have succumbed to the disease, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 5,404.

There are 1,226 patients currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 25,969 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

As of January 4, 2022, a total of 10,310,606 vaccines had been administered across the country, with 5,942,632 partially vaccinated and 4,321,150 fully vaccinated.
