On January 6, 2022, Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi dismissed claims that he is in talks with Deputy President William Ruto to form a coalition ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Mudavadi stated that he has not received any informal invitation for talks to form a coalition by Ruto.

He emphasized that he remains committed to his party's agenda and will not engage in any discussions that may compromise his party's interests.
