On January 5, 2022, the National Assembly witnessed a stormy session as Members of Parliament (MPs) debated the controversial political parties amendment bill.

Debate turned into chaos as MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto proposed amendments to every clause in the bill, forcing divisions and delaying the conclusion of the debate.

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was ejected from the National Assembly for two sittings after alleging bribery in the house. Nyoro claimed that Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi was dishing out money in 100 and 200 thousand shillings to influence voting.

Gedi was also kicked out of the chamber for one sitting for disturbing order within the house against parliament's standing orders.
