On January 1, 2022, Arsenal's Gabriel was shown a red card by referee Stuart Attwell in a Premier League match against Manchester City.

The incident occurred in the 59th minute of the match when Gabriel received a second yellow card, his second booking within two minutes.

The English Football Association (FA) has charged Arsenal for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the match.

The FA has given the club until Friday to respond to the charge.
