On January 5, 2022, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro found himself at the center of a heated debate in the National Assembly, which ultimately led to his suspension for two days.

The controversy began when Nyoro claimed that Members of Parliament were being bribed to vote, specifically alleging that Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Gedi was behind the alleged bribery.

However, when challenged to provide evidence, Nyoro failed to substantiate his claims, leading to his ejection from the precincts of Parliament by temporary speaker Soipan Tuya.

According to the standing orders, Nyoro was removed from the House for two days for misleading the House.

Additionally, Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Gedi was also ejected from the House for the remainder of the sitting after distributing Lollipops to MPs during an active session.

“Hon Nyoro, based on the standing orders 107 having misled the house. I order Hon Nyoro be removed from precincts of parliament for two days,” Soipan Tuya ruled in ejecting Nyoro.

“I want to call your attention to standing order 107 which addresses orderly conduct in the House. On the same note, Hon Fatuma Gedi be removed from the House for the remainder of the sitting,” the temporary speaker ruled.
