Mosoriot Road Accident Leaves One Dead, 13 Injured

On January 5, 2022, a devastating road accident occurred near Mosoriot, claiming one life and leaving 13 others injured.

According to eyewitness John Munyoki, who was a passenger on the Glokonza Sacco matatu, the vehicle had 14 passengers on board when the driver lost control near the Kapsabet-Eldoret road.

"I heard a loud sound from the rear side of the vehicle and it started going zigzag on the road. We later found ourselves entangled on the seats and the women on board were screaming," Mr Munyoki recounted.

Chesumei OCPD Omukolongolo Bosita confirmed that the accident occurred just a few minutes to 4pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, after a rear tyre burst.

The deceased woman was taken to the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital mortuary, while the injured passengers, including the driver, were rushed to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment.
