On January 5, 2022, Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate Jane Kamau directed police to detain four men accused of trespassing on a 5-acre piece of land in Karen.

The land, located along Windy Ridge lane, is believed to belong to a senior politician.

The suspects, Mohammed Mohammud Wako alias Hussein Mohammed, James Owino Opere, Jonah Saluuni Tuuko, and Samakini Lesingiran, were arrested and detained by officers from Karen Police Station on January 3, 2022.

According to Sergeant Lawson Shumu, the suspects entered the land without authority and started searching for beacons.

Lawson alleged that the suspects were planning to sell the land to unsuspecting members of the public and were in possession of forged title documents.

Lawyer Danstan Omari, representing the suspects, opposed the application to detain his clients for seven days, claiming the land belongs to the head of state.
