On Monday, a 26-year-old man allegedly assaulted his mother with a machete at Ombasa Village, Kadhola Sub-location in South Nyanza, Kenya, leaving her with serious injuries.
The incident began when the man started assaulting his sister at home, prompting his father to intervene. When his mother saw him attack the father, she also intervened, but he turned against her with the machete.
The mother sustained serious panga cuts on her thighs and hands, and the people who were injured during the incident were rushed to Ndhiwa Sub County Hospital for treatment.
According to Ndhiwa Sub County Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Commander Paul Makonge, the matter had been reported at Ndhiwa Police Station, and officers are searching for the man to take legal action against him.
“We are aware of the incident and our officers are looking for him so that legal action is taken against him,” Makonge said.
