On January 5, 2022, ODM leader Raila Odinga announced the formation of his campaign team, with Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi at the helm as board chair.
According to Raila, Governor Muriithi has been nominated and accepted to become chair of the board of the 2022 Campaign.
As a seasoned leader with over 29 years of experience in leadership and management in Kenya, South Africa, Canada, and Australia, Governor Muriithi has a strong track record of driving development projects, including the rehabilitation of the derelict Nairobi-Nanyuki and Gilgil-Nyahururu railway lines.
His recent appearances alongside Raila in key public meetings have fueled speculation that he may be his running mate, a position that would be crucial in Central Kenya, a region Raila is likely to focus on in the upcoming elections.
