Published on January 5, 2022, Watford have bolstered their squad with the signing of Ivory Coast international Hassane Kamara on a deal until June 2025 from Ligue 1 side Nice.
At 27 years old, Kamara brings experience to the Hornets, having made 11 league appearances at left-back for Nice this season. The club is second in the French top flight.
The reported fee for Kamara's transfer is around £4m, a significant investment as Watford attempts to avoid relegation from the Premier League. The Hornets are currently two points above the drop zone in 17th place.
Before joining Watford, Kamara made 53 appearances for Nice, scoring three goals, including one against German side Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League in December 2020.
Internationally, Kamara has made his debut for Ivory Coast in June 2021 and has shown versatility, capable of playing in midfield in addition to his primary position at left-back.
