As the Nairobi gubernatorial seat heats up ahead of the August 9, 2022, election, Agnes Kagure has emerged as a strong contender, vowing to empower thousands of women and youths in the city.
Through her Agnes Kagure Foundation (AKF), Kagure has developed a comprehensive mentorship and coaching program aimed at bridging the gender equality gap in Nairobi's politics.
With a focus on extracting and promoting profitable business ideas from women, Kagure's program seeks to enable women and students to secure top positions in the country's politics.
As part of her efforts to promote peace and cohesion, Kagure has established a special team within AKF to preach peace among youths and women ahead of the election.
With a strong team behind her, Kagure is expected to take on other prominent contenders, including Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Deputy President William Ruto's associate Margaret Wanjiru, and incumbent Anne Kananu Mwendwa.
