Kenya's Air Cargo Service to Boost Western Region's Economy ¶
After years of anticipation, the Kenyan government has finally announced the launch of an air cargo service for fish and farm produce from Kisumu International Airport (KIA). This move is expected to greatly benefit farmers and traders in western Kenya.
According to Edward Ouko, the chairman of the Kisumu-based development agency KLDC, the first air cargo flight is scheduled to take off on January 8, this year.
The air cargo service will operate from a newly constructed facility where fish and farm produce will be stored before being transported by air.
Investors have completed the construction of the facility, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of the air cargo service.
