On December 31st, 2021, a 15-year-old minor appeared at Kigumo Law Courts in Murang'a County and was subsequently remanded at Muthithi Police Station.
While in custody, the minor was allegedly taken to an adjacent office by a police officer on duty and subjected to defilement.
The minor reported the incident to the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), who ordered her to be taken to Kigumo Hospital for treatment and a P3 form to be filled by a doctor.
Investigations have identified the suspected police officer, Letingis Lentirangoi, who is currently in custody awaiting arraignment.
