After a 16-year ban, Kenya has reopened its livestock export market to Oman, with the first shipment of over 40,000 animals valued at Sh200 million departing from Mombasa port on January 3, 2022.
The move follows a decision by the two countries to collaborate and boost the livestock sector. Kenya's Ambassador to Oman, Mohammed Dor, said the country has the capacity to receive over 500,000 livestock due to the size of its market.
