Defilement Suspect Cornered in Maragua, Murang'a County

On January 4, 2022, a suspect wanted for defilement was re-arrested in Maragua, Murang'a County, bringing an end to six months of temporary freedom.

Andrew Ngugi Wairimu, alias Makai, was cornered by police officers who had received a tip about his whereabouts at the border area of Maragua township.

According to a Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) report, Makai resisted arrest and attempted to flee, prompting one of the officers to employ reasonable force and shoot him in the left buttock.

The suspect is currently admitted at Maragua Sub County Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

Once discharged, detectives based in Murang'a south will prepare the suspect's file to arraign him in court.
