Published on January 3, 2022, Mombasa County has taken a significant step in the fight against Covid-19 by rolling out a booster vaccine campaign.

According to Public Health Chief Officer Pauline Oginga, the booster vaccine will be administered to individuals who have completed their primary vaccination regime six months ago.

Oginga emphasized that the booster vaccine is safe and urged residents not to be apprehensive about receiving it.

She also advised that any side effects experienced after vaccination, such as pains, can be alleviated by taking Paracetamol, as these symptoms indicate the body's immune system is building antibodies against the virus.

As part of the campaign, Mombasa County aims to vaccinate 402,000 people, with 292,000 already receiving the booster dose.

The Health Ministry has also initiated the issuance of Covid-19 booster doses to eligible Kenyans who have completed their primary vaccination regime.

Notably, President Uhuru Kenyatta was one of the first to receive his Covid-19 booster shot on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2021, at State House, Nairobi.

As reported by State House Kenya, President Kenyatta stated that booster doses will be given to eligible Kenyans who have completed the primary vaccination regime.
