Tunisia's resurgent side ended Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations dream after stunning the Black Stars 4-5 in post-match penalties in their round of 16 clash played at Ismailia Stadium on July 8.
After regulation time ended 1-1, Tunisia won the penalty shootouts to set up a quarter-final date with Madagascar.
Ferjani Sassi's strike in the shoot-outs was the difference as the penalties settled the match.
Andre Ayew appeared to have broken the deadlock minutes to half-time, but the Swansea City star had his back-heeled goal disallowed after match officials ruled there was a handball in the buildup to the goal.
However, the decision did not deter Ghana, with the west African nation troubling Tunisia's defense with nifty skills.
It was the introduction of Wahbi Khazri for Anice Badri that turned around Tunisia's fortunes, with the ex-Sunderland man making an instant impact upfront having a hand in Ellyes Skhiri's header that hit the woodwork in the 72nd minute.
The Carthage Eagles went on to find the back of the net a minute later via Taha Khenissi who slotted past Richard Ofori after being set up by Wajdi Kechrida.
But Alain Giresse's men surrendered the lead at the death, with Rami Bedoui directing the ball into his own net to gift Ghana the equaliser.
Goalkeeper Farouk Ben Mustapha was the hero, coming on for the shootout to save Caleb Ekuban's penalty.
The historic win effectively ended Tunisia's 54-year wait to earn a victory against the Black Stars.
