On January 3, 2022, a tragic incident occurred in Bondo sub-county, where an elderly woman lost her life after being attacked by a swarm of bees.
Debora Jababu, an 80-year-old grandmother, had gone to fetch firewood when she was suddenly attacked by the bees.
Her neighbours found her writhing in pain and rushed her to the nearby Gobei health centre, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Assistant Chief of Bar-Chando sub-location Julius Agot confirmed the incident and stated that investigations have been launched into the matter.
"We have launched investigations into the matter," Agot said.
