On New Year's Eve, Munami FC from Matungu sub-county defeated Ikolomani-based Arsenal Lirhembe 2-0 at the Mumias Complex to win the coveted title worth Kshs 1M.
Team Manager Franklin Otsieno, alias Tony Drogba, expressed his pride in his team's achievement and vowed to continue aiming higher.
"My boys did me proud winning this most sought-after trophy and making me the best team manager in Kakamega county," Drogba noted. "We are not stopping there as we hope to continue winning and playing at the big stage."
Tournament sponsor and Kakamega county senator Cleophas Malala pledged to raise the prize money for the winners in future editions.
"Once elected governor of Kakamega county in 2022, I will ensure that I empower the youth more through sports," he remarked. "The cash prize for the Cleo Malalah Super Cup tournament will move from one to five million shillings."
