Deputy President William Ruto's digital communications strategist Dennis Itumbi has spoken out for the first time since his hospital discharge on January 1, 2022.
Itumbi, who was abducted and tortured, vowed to expose his captors once he fully recovers from his injuries.
"The doctors have said I am out of danger, I will only go back to the hospital for normal clinics," Itumbi said.
Itumbi suffered triple fractures on his left leg and a fracture on his right leg, as well as multiple dislocations on his upper limbs.
He also sustained wrist dislocation and damaged corneas due to being poked in the eyes.
Itumbi was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after experiencing difficulty in breathing and developed trauma-pneumonia due to the injuries.
Despite forgiving his captors, Itumbi vowed to name them at a later date.
Itumbi's brother, David Itumbi, shared a video showing the strategist walking in pain with the support of nurses at the hospital.
DP Ruto had visited Itumbi, accusing government operatives for the incident and vowing to defeat impunity and free the nation.
