On the eve of the New Year, Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa made a bold prediction about the 2022 presidential contest, asserting that ODM leader Raila Odinga will emerge victorious.
Speaking during the Bukhungu II convention in Kakamega on December 31, Wamalwa stated that Raila is the best bet for President next year, cautioning members of the Luhya community against gambling with their votes.
“As the Defence CS, I know what I am saying. Raila will carry the day and you should not have any doubts about that,” he said.
Wamalwa's sentiments were echoed by Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, who claimed that the only thing standing between Raila and the presidency is time.
Former Kwanza MP Noah Wekesa also predicted a Raila victory, stating that all people he has supported since 2002 have never lost.
