Covid-19: Kenya Records 3,297 New Cases, 236 Recoveries

Kenya's Ministry of Health confirmed 3,297 new Covid-19 cases on December 29, 2021, bringing the country's caseload to 288,951.

According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the cases were detected from 9,637 samples tested, raising the total to 3,009,185. The country's positivity rate stands at 34.2 per cent.

Of the new cases, 3,065 are Kenyans, while 232 are foreigners. The age range of the new cases spans from a one-month-old infant to a 101-year-old individual.

236 patients have recovered, with 173 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program and 63 from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 250,963.

Sadly, eight patients succumbed to the virus, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 5,372.

There are 835 patients currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 21,692 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care Programme.
